In this position, the financial analyst supports the Director of Finance, tracks key performance metrics and reports on the financial performance of the audio visual line of business. In addition, the financial analyst helps produce the budget, monthly forecasts, analyzes costs, troubleshoots problems, and works on ad-hoc projects



  • Prepare detailed projection of profit and loss statement on select events based upon information gathered from team members managing the show and a varity of information systems.
  • Prepare and present financial variance analysis.
  • Prepares financial budgets and forecasts by working with event owners and a variety of information systems.  
  • Performs monthly job cost and margin/profitability analysis.
  • Reviews monthly operating results; understand and explain monthly activity and variances for financial reporting. 
  • Prepares ad hoc analysis for important variances and processes that are working differently than expected.
  • Performs other duties as assigned and deemed necessary of the position by the Finance Manager and Director of Finance.


  • Bachelors Degree in Finance, Accounting or related field.
  • Minimum of 2-3 years of progressive finance/accounting experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze results and determine areas of improvement and causal effects.
  • Profit and loss statement (revenue and expense) work experience including the calculation of projections and in-depth variance analysis.
  • Ability to understand explanations provided by operational team members and determine how that impacts the financial situations of events.  
  • Strong  knowledge of and ability to use financial informational systems.
  • Demonstrated ability to understand and query data from various information systems.
  • Strong financial and operational analysis skills. 
  • Strong business acumen/general management in addition to intellectual and change leadership skills.
  • Strong verbal, written, interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Solid knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).
  • Hyperion Essbase knowledge and experience.
  • Oracle software experience.
  • Microsoft Office suite experience-including proficient level Excel skills.
  • 2-3 years financial planning and analysis experience.


Work Environment

Special Considerations:

  • Flexibility with work schedule (required to change shifts and work days as business needs dictate).
  • Flexibility with work hours (must be able to work overtime as business needs dictate).
  • Travel up to 10% on average is possible.
  • Work may need to be performed in a somewhat atypical setting away from the office. Work areas may be crowded or noisy where there may be a mild discomfort due to tempature, dust or other conditions.
