    The Administrative Operations Supervisor will manage and coordinate the work flow, deliverables and scheduling of all Operations Coordinators – Electrical. Ensure that all required departmental procedures are carried out in accordance to policy and in an organized, timely and efficient manner.



    • Continuously analyze Electrical operations to identify opportunities for improvement to include the implementation of National initiatives.
    • Proactively drive the electrical information gathering process.
    • Oversees and implements all electrical pre-show administration, show site and post-show coordination activities.
    • Manage the day-to-day activities in the office and at show site; efforts include accurate staffing of show schedule, payroll management, safety standards, systems data entry, purchase order requisitions, collections, billing, auditing, credits, selling and up-selling all available services offered by GES.
    • Provide assistance and execution in all managed tasks in order to meet the required workload.
    • Ensure that all electrical work documentation and billing is fair and complete.
    • Primary contact for National Service-centerÔ for Chicago shows.
    • Recruit, hire and manage Electrical support staff.  Ensure that all staff are properly trained, performing to company standards and kept current on all procedural changes.
    • Monitor performance levels of direct reports and administer annual performance appraisals.
    • Ensure a professional demeanor and professional appearance is maintained by staff in accordance with GES guidelines.
    • Interact with National Service-centerÔ and all local departments to coordinate exhibitor and show organizer orders with all phases of production.
    • Coordinate with all departmental Managers and staff to develop pro-active solutions to increase efficiencies.
    • Attend and participate in all TEAM Meetings, Pre-Show, inter-departmental, etc.
    • Ensure that all shows are being tracked in accordance with the budgetary requirements.
    • Productivity management on a show by show basis through budgetary management of labor and overall cost on each show.
    • Manage accurate inventory of electrical services equipment, phones, and supplies.
    • Sign all timecards to ensure proper coding and hour allocation.
    • Provide in-house office support to Account Managers.
    • Must be flexible to travel, train, work nights and weekends to meet GES business requirements.
    • Perform other duties as assigned and deemed necessary of the position under the direction of the Senior Operations Manager.



    • College Degree Preferred or equivalent work experience
    • Client service experience required with at least three to five years in a managerial/supervisory capacity
    • Prior experience with electrical is strongly preferred
    • Familiarity with tradeshow and convention industry preferred
    • Possess excellent organizational, oral, and written communication skills, be a team player, and self-starter with an understanding of team goals.
    • Have corrective and conflict resolution experience
    • Ability to work with minimal direct supervision
    • Ability to effectively prioritize work to ensure a smooth operating department
    • Ability to manage several projects simultaneously and maintain a strong attention to  detail
    • Ability to manage under pressure of deadlines
    • Ability to lead and maintain confidentiality      
    • Proficient in use of MS Office programs, data entry software and computer use for business

    Work Environment

    Work Environment

    • Work performed is split between an office setting and a convention trade show floor.
    • Work may involve repetitive motion (i.e. constant keying, using fingers, or grasping of objects).
    • Work may be performed in a somewhat crowded or noisy area where there may be mild discomfort due to temperature, dust or other conditions. 
    • Work involves occasional exertion of physical effort (i.e. periods of standing, climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, pushing, pulling, lifting)
