The PMO Manager is a key strategic global IT role responsible for project identification, selection and execution.  This scope of this team includes portfolio management, project management, financial management and IT procurement.  This leader works closely with the CIO in a chief of staff capacity helping shape the direction of the entire IT organization.   


This results-oriented leader will manage a team of 5-10 individuals and report to the Executive Director of Strategy and Operations while working closely with the CIO and his staff.  Responsibility include:

  • Align IT Portfolio of projects to business priorities.  Collaborate with functional and IT teams to determine cost, timing and benefits of those investment decisions.
  • Enhance existing project execution methodology to improve say-do, product quality and adherence to compliance standards.
  • Assign PMO project managers to highest risk projects and remain on the steering committee of those projects.
  • Train, guide and coach project managers outside PMO to improve project management practices throughout the organization.
  • Partner with IT finance to drive better cost management practices within the department.
  • Manage procurement of all IT related devices and services.  Work cross functionally with IT and the business to optimize IT investments.
  • Partner with CIO on the definition and execution of communications and events related to IT progress and strategy.
  • Provide leadership and coordination of IT activities to drive simplification, transparency and efficiency.
  • Define frameworks and supporting governance models to improve the overall efficiency of IT.


  • Four-year degree in Business, MIS, Computer Science or related field is required or commensurate experience.
  • 10+ years’ experience in Information Technology with a solid project management background
  • Proven track record of having project managed large complex program through an entire project lifecycle (including cross-functional and cross-organizational projects) is required.
  • Proven ability with project management methodologies such as Waterfall and Agile/SCRUM, required. Certification in Project Management strongly preferred.
  • Able to simplify corporate complexity and influence change through a collaborative and coaching leadership style.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, solid business acumen, and the ability to consistently meet or exceed deadlines.
  • Experience with using MS-Office based tools (MS-Project, MS-Excel, MS-Powerpoint) required.
  • High energy, self-directed leader able to engage and motivate individuals to meet business objectives.
