The Graphics Technician, operating within the Graphics Depot, is responsible for providing computer and sign finishing services for Tradeshow and Exhibit graphic requirements. The position involves handling, rebuilding, and formatting multiple computer file types and digital media for varying final output destinations.  The position also involves handling, laminating, mounting/trimming graphic signage, and preparation of packages for shipping to various locations.  The Graphic Tech requires a unique blending of desktop publishing, graphic design, digital imaging, prepress, and graphic production, as well as strong interpersonal skills.


  • Operates and maintains computer-aided sign making equipment, software programs and color printers.
  • Perform layout, and production functions using desktop publishing software on the computer (current workload dictates 90% pure computer production, 10% actual creative design).
  • Able to work in the production area of the department to facilitate the finishing of graphic signage, i.e., vinyl production, mounting and trimming of digital prints.
  • Facilitates and maintains the use of computer ID sign equipment.
  • Assists in answering computer graphics software questions or production issues as requested by GES clients.
  • Operates a Macintosh operating system, PC operating system, Windows NT and with proficiency in software programs: Adobe Creative Suite, with InDesign being the primary software use dark Express, and various other operating utilities.
  • Operates all Graphics Department printing equipment, including Inkjet and desktop printers Flatbed Printer and Vinyl Plotter.
  • Attend Graphics Meetings and provide updates on capacity and potential opportunities.
  • Assist training new employees in departmental processes and procedures.
  • Performs other duties as assigned and deemed necessary of the position under the direction of the Graphics Department Manager, Production Supervisor, Shift Supervisor, or Lead Person.


  • Three (3) years’ experience in Graphics production, including two (2) years computer design experience or equivalent combination thereof as shown in a portfolio.
  • High School diploma; prefer two (2) years college.
  • Computer knowledge and experience in PC and Macintosh platforms including Microsoft Office products.
  • Demonstrate high level of proficiency with verbal and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to use various measuring tools and mathematical proficiency (fractions, decimals).
  • Demonstrated excellent customer service skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to read details and floorplans must have mathematical proficiency (fractions, decimals).

Work Environment

  • No relocation assistance available.
  • Hourly position.
  • Flexibility with work schedule (required to change shifts and work days as business needs dictate). Flexibility with work hours (must be able to work overtime as business needs dictate).
