    The Warehouse Supervisor will oversee the freight and receiving department aspects of warehouse operations, while supporting city & regional operations with equipment & materials. The Warehouse Supervisor will assist the warehouse manager in all activities with supervision for freight and receiving departments.



    • Supervise freight and receiving department warehouse union labor: assign tasks, projects & priorities.
    • Supervise small package receiving functions and maintain small package equipment.
    • Supervise cross dock receiving, working with vendors, over the road drivers and in house drivers to make sure all product is loaded and or unloaded efficiently and without incident.
    • Supervise documentation of special handling, and/or damages to product and freight.
    • Supervise the preparation and ensure timely shipment of freight desk equipment and safety crates to showsite.
    • Supervise freight crew working in the CORE freight system.
    • Ability to backfill all roles in the event that a freight or small package team member is out.  To include Operating a forklift.
    • Develop projects and initiatives to increase productivity, reduce down time and effectively manage equipment.
    • Organize, label and track all billable storage accounts.
    • Hold regular safety tailgate meetings with freight and receiving department employees.
    • Implement & promote all GES best practices and standard operating procedures.
    • Provide leadership, training and knowledge to freight and small package receiving union personnel.
    • Ensure and verify the accuracy of union timecard information.
    • Provide disciplinary action to union personnel when required: maintain all related documentation.
    • Maintain a clean, efficient and safe working environment for warehouse employees: Set new standards for excellence, performance and conduct.
    • Promote safety, quality, great customer service and attention to detail.
    • Develop teamwork, high productivity and morale with all warehouse employees.
    • Ensure all GES work rules and policies are communicated, understood and followed.
    • Perform other duties assigned and deemed necessary for the position under the direction of the Warehouse Manager.
    • Adhere to all GES policies and procedures including safety & Always Honest.




    • College degree preferred or equivalent work experience
    • Strong interpersonal skills in a diverse workforce
    • Three (3) to five (5) years in an operational environment
    • Experience in management/supervisory functions
    • Strong organizational skills, effective under pressure, meeting deadlines
    • Excellent written and oral communication skills
    • Self-starter with high personal standards for performance & conduct
    • Detail oriented, enthusiastic leader with experience in a union environment
    • Forklift Certified


    Work Environment


    • Will be required to perform work on the warehouse floor, in noisy and crowded areas as well as office setting. This includes but is not limited to driving forklifts, moving and pushing equipment, rolling carpet, etc.
    • Requires working both alone and with others in a team atmosphere.
    • Requires working with union and non-union employees.
