The IT Program Manager is responsible for leading the implementation and deployment of GES enterprise solutions. The Program Manager partners with customers in regard to identifying opportunities where information technology could be used to improve the performance of the business units. Once identified and prioritized, these opportunities will become active projects that the Program Manager will manage through all states of the project lifecycle as defined by the company’s Project Management Methodology. The Program Manager ensures the project deliverables meet or exceed the business unit expectations and quality requirements, are produced on time and are within budget.     Responsibilities

     

    As a results-driven individual, the Program Manager will manage resources in cross-functional areas and ensure that assigned programs are implemented on schedule, within budget, and stated functionality and scope. Further responsibilities of the role include:

    • Partner with internal customers to understand their business, products, sales strategies, goals/objectives, opportunities and problems and how technology can be applied as a solution.
    • Follow, refine and enhance the company’s Project Management Methodology to consistently deliver projects on time, within budget and that meet expected results.
    • Lead the execution of projects, many of which are assigned a 'high' corporate priority, visibility, significant budget(s), involving multiple teams and lasting six or more months.
    • Establish and maintain effective business partnership with customers to fully understand their business requirements.
    • Develop formal business cases with internal customers and IT. These business cases may include RFPs, ROI analysis and the company’s Investment Proposal for major projects to be presented to the executive management team for corporate funding.
    • Develop project objectives, project scope, risk assessment, project deliverables, timelines and resource objectives and plans.
    • Create, maintain and manage detailed project plans to insure project deliverables meet or exceed expectations.
    • Ensure that the necessary acceptance testing, user training, documentation, and post implementation activities are completed such that the project is viewed by all as fully successful.
    • Monitor progress against project plans and solve project related issues. Present project updates to executive-level steering committee.
    • Facilitate requirements gathering, issue resolution and implementation activities.
    • Accountable for time, cost, resource risk management assessments as requested within complex work plans with a high attention to detail.
    • Function as the focal point for project communication and status throughout the organization.
    • Assign, monitor and adjust project activities to maintain schedule, cost and quality objectives.
    • Enforce adherence to project, development and QA methodologies.
    • Prepare status reporting on a periodic basis to Directors, Project Sponsors, and other leaders.
    • Ensure that complete technical, process and business documentation is created and maintained.
    • Escalate issues and risks to the Project Sponsors and Directors in a timely manner.

    Qualifications

    • Four-year degree in Business, MIS, Computer Science or related field is required.
    • 10+ years’ experience in Information Technology with solid understanding of leading ERP / CRM tools, including Oracle eBusiness Suite (any module), Salesforce, as well as systems integration and software development methodology, is required.
    • Proven track record of managing the implementation and deployment of large complex technical solutions through an entire project lifecycle (including cross-functional and cross-organizational projects) is required.
    • Proven ability with project management methodologies such as Waterfall and Agile/SCRUM, required. Certification in Project Management strongly preferred.
    • Experience/certification in Lean Process Improvement / Six Sigma strongly preferred.
    • Experience with use-case/UML modeling for requirements management, preferred.
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, solid business acumen, and the ability to consistently meet or exceed deadlines.
    • Experience with using MS-Office based tools (MS-Project, MS-Excel, MS-Powerpoint) required.
    • Proficient at managing in a fast paced and rapidly changing environment.
