    Job Description:

    The candidate for this Senior Staff Accountant opportunity must have the proven ability to research, reconcile and resolve complex balance sheet account reconciliation issues.

    Critical success factors for candidates will include a highly collaborative work style, the ability to anticipate problems, proactively deal with difficult and complex situations and communicate appropriately with all levels of stakeholders.  


     The ideal candidate will possess a well-rounded background in accounting and be able to provide analysis and reconciliation skills to multiple types of accounts.

    • Identify, research, document and apply technical accounting issues as they relate to the Company's activities in order to ensure the proper application of accounting rules and regulations.This includes involvement with both international and domestic issues.
    • Ability to identify issues within general ledger accounts and bring them to resolution working with appropriate team members.
    • Reconciliation of intercompany accounts from both an income statement and balance sheet perspective.
    • Complete various other balance sheet account reconciliations supporting “should be” balance analysis through validation of account to internal management and external auditors. 
    • Provide variance analysis narratives related to monthly, quarterly and annual variance reporting for both income statement and balance sheet accounts.
    • Be committed to mastering and work productively with our accounting technology including Oracle, Blackline, HFM, EssBase and other tools. We don’t expect you to be an expert immediately but we have high expectations that you can and will utilize our tools quickly.
    • Provide necessary support for Sarbanes-Oxley compliance inquiries to include self-assessments.



    The candidate for this Senior Staff Accountant opportunity within our Shared Service Accounting Group must have:


    • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or related field required plus 3-5 years of experience in an accounting related discipline.
    •  CPA, Masters or Accounting preferred. We will support your need to obtain appropriate CPE.
    • Must be highly computer literate and able to learn new systems quickly. We utilize Oracle as our accounting system and Hyperion Essbase and HFM as analytical and reporting tools.  
    • Highly detailed person with account reconciliation skills. We utilize Blackline technology to record and approve account reconciliations. This person will be expected to become highly proficient using Blackline. The company will provide necessary training and support for this purpose.
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills coupled with strong research, analytical and problem solving skills are required.
    • Must be a team player and demonstrate ability to work effectively in a cross-functional team setting and a self-starter attitude is preferred.
    • Multi-facility, including international, manufacturing experience preferred. Ability to communicate with GES personnel globally.
    • Demonstrated ability to analyze results to include presentation of findings and execution of change deemed necessary to promote improvement. You should be a critical thinker that is highly skeptical of account reconciliation support to ensure your conclusions are supported by the documentation.
    •  Must be highly proficient with MS Excel and Word and be able to create and use pivot tables on large amounts of data
    • Solid knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), technically strong and confident with your accounting skills.
