The Logistics Sales Executive reports directly to the Logistics Manager.  The position will be responsible for city logistics revenue both Domestic and International, control of city costs associated with logistics, and logistics margins for the business sold.   As well, candidate will be responsible for Exhibitor billing and administrative duties as they relate to the Logistics Line of Business. The Logistics Sales Executive will reside in their respective city facility.

Responsibilities

 

The Logistics Sales Executive is responsible for contributing to excellence in all areas related to logistics.  The position will be responsible for driving logistics revenue, producing the desire logistics margins, generating profit dollars through logistics and following company logistics guidelines and policies. Specific responsibilities for the Logistics Sales Executive include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Work with the Director of Operations, the Regional Director of Logistics and the Logistics Manager to implement processes. Drive logistics excellence across all GES departments. The logistics process they implement must include:
  • Consistent pricing within the guidelines outlined
  • Carrier utilization within the guidelines established
  • Consistent sales and marketing efforts (pre show, show site and post show)
  • Compliance with all National Logistics guidelines
  • Compliance with all legal and governmental regulations
  • Involvement in all logistics activity within the city.
  • Daily communication of logistics activities to other departments
  • Involvement with all show site logistics activities
  • Compliance to all accounting, invoicing and logistics procedures
  • Coordinate sales and marketing effort for specific logistics opportunities (caravans, pool distribution, etc.)
  • Contribute to the identification, development, and implementation of logistics best practices within the city.
  • Contribute to the overall logistics performance within the city.

 

Qualifications

 

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred 
  • Advanced or Intermediate skill level with Microsoft Outlook programs, required 
  • General knowledge of basic computer programming and mobile technology, required
  • Proven  track record in a sales role, required
  • 2+ years experience in transportation, preferred
  • 2+ years experience in International Trade show event forwarding and customs brokerage, both Import and Export, preferred
  • Strong customer focus/client service skills, required
  • Strong communication skills, required
  • Ability to exceed in operations environment, required
  • Requires ability to adapt to multiple settings and shifting responsibilities.
  • Must be able to work under pressure.

 

Work Environment

 

  • Opportunity to work nights, weekends and at showsite.
  • Position may require long hours during several months of the year.
