GES is seeking an Strategist to actively contribute to strategic client initiatives connected with event marketing, to drive new business growth and account renewals, and to support thought leadership initiatives to differentiate the company.

The GES strategy team partners with clients and prospects and GES account teams to

  • Develop insights that inform creative development
  • Identify key strategic challenges, develop approaches to address and improve event marketing performance; analyze data and recommend improvements
  • Drive attendee/exhibitor/sponsor growth, increase interaction, and improve business results
  • Measure and benchmark outcomes, and provide improvement recommendations
  • Demonstrate strategy as a key differentiator for GES

Responsibilities

The GES Strategist directly supports client work and GES initiatives across an array of needs:

  • Provide insights to inform, inspire and rationalize a creative approach
  • Consult with clients across an array of strategic challenge, leveraging data, insight and event marketing experience
  • Serve as day to day project lead with client and internal GES teams
  • Evaluate event marketing performance using the GES measurement approach
  • Own project scope, timelines, project work, and high-quality deliverables as well as generate high quality deliverables, high customer satisfaction and incremental project opportunities
  • Develop relationships with account teams across the company and actively promote GES Strategic capabilities
  • Contribute to GES thought leadership efforts
  • Participate actively in social media to promote GES and client projects/interests.

Creative Insights

  • Conduct primary and secondary research and identifying key brand and audience insights
  • Develop creative briefs and conduct creative briefing sessions
  • Review creative work to ensure that it remains “on strategy” and contributes to the presentation of creative insights in client presentations.

Event Marketing Consulting

  • Provide consultative guidance to clients to improve program performance through primary and secondary research, insight into client’s business and event marketing, and relevant analytics
  • Develop client objectives, key workstreams, and estimated level of effort to deliver recommendations
  • Synthesize findings and provide clear communication of recommendations

Event Measurement & Strategic Intelligence

  • Use GES proprietary measurement system and strategic intelligence offering to develop the right approach to delivering client recommendations leveraging an array of data collection methodologies; develop surveys, interview guides, etc.; and develop post-event measurement reports, including actionable recommendations

Thought Leadership

  • Work with GES Marketing to develop and promote thought leadership assets and contributes as a speaker at relevant industry events.

Qualifications

Skill requirements:

  • Significant event marketing experience
  • Keen insight into human psychology/behavior
  • Ability to structure ambiguous problems and ideas into structured analysis
  • Superb written and spoken communication skills
  • Knowledge of and ability to implement/oversee primary and secondary research
  • Strong leadership, account and client relationship-building skills
  • Ability to present with ease
  • Familiarity and active use of social media
  • Experience developing and presenting thought leadership
  • Team player

 

Experience:

  • College degree; 4-7 years event marketing or strategic marketing skills preferred
  • Experience working in live events a plus
