GES is seeking an Associate Strategist to help drive new business growth and account renewals, and to support thought leadership initiatives to differentiate the company.

The GES strategy team partners with clients, prospects and GES account teams to:

  • Develop insights that inform creative development
  • Identify key strategic challenges, develop approaches to address and improve event marketing performance; analyze data and recommend improvements
  • Drive attendee/exhibitor/sponsor growth, increase interaction, and improve business results
  • Measure and benchmark outcomes, and provide improvement recommendations
  • Demonstrate strategy as a key differentiator for GES

Responsibilities

The Associate Strategist works with strategy team members to conduct research, collaborate on analysis and recommendations, draft strategic presentations, develop and present strategic work and case studies, etc.

Acting primarily as a contributing team member, the Associate Strategist contributes to strategic initiatives across an array of needs, including:

  • Capture key internal and client meeting notes, identify insights, and synthesize into initial points-of-view
  • Design and conduct interviews and other primary research and capture key findings
  • Outline and conduct secondary research, summarize findings, insights and initial recommendations
  • Participate and contribute to team brainstorms, project plans, and client recommendations
  • Develop presentation materials including powerpoint, word and excel
  • Collaborate with other members of the strategy team to deliver on client needs across all areas of the GES strategic offering.
  • Provide highest quality of work – smart; reasoned; well-articulated
  • Participate actively in social media to promote GES and client projects/interests.

 

Qualifications

 

  • Keen interest in strategy and can take learnings and apply directly to work
  • Excellent written and spoken communication skills
  • Ability to conduct efficient, focused research
  • Collaborative/team player
  • Stellar writing skills
  • High degree of organization skills and follow-through
  • Responsiveness and a positive willingness to contribute whatever is needed to get the work done, and done well.
  • Familiarity and active use of social media
  • Proactive ownership of projects
  • College degree or work equivalent; 3-5 years research or strategy experience a plus
  • Occasional travel 
  • Experience working in live events a plus
