GES is seeking an Account Manager, Strategy to drive new business growth and account renewals and to lead thought leadership initiatives to differentiate the company.

The GES strategy team partners with sales, creative and production to:

  • Develop insights that inform creative development
  • Identify key strategic challenges, develop approaches to address and improve event marketing performance; analyze data and recommend improvements
  • Drive attendee/exhibitor/sponsor growth, increase interaction, and improve business results
  • Measure and benchmark outcomes, and provide improvement recommendations
  • Demonstrate strategy as a key differentiator for GES

Responsibilities

The Account Manager, Strategy plays an active role in growing and managing the GES Strategy business. Key responsibilities include:

  • Develop strategic presentations and scopes-of-work
  • Oversee (in a project management capacity) “strategy only” projects as well as separately scoped strategy initiatives within larger client programs
  • Collaborate with sales and account teams across the organization to identify and prospect business
  • Contribute to internal and external marketing efforts to promote GES Strategy capabilities
  • Manage and ensure all strategic initiatives are delivered on time and according to client expectations
  • Participate and contribute to internal team meetings, scheduling program reviews as needed and, when necessary, coordinating directly with clients on behalf of the larger account team
  • Monitor project scope and profitability and craft change orders as necessary
  • Participate actively in social media to promote GES and client projects/interests

Qualifications

  • Solid understanding of the GES strategic capability and relationship to other types of programs
  • Excellent communication and client management skills
  • High degree of organization skills and follow-through
  • Stellar writing
  • Responsiveness and a positive willingness to contribute whatever is needed to get the work done, and done well
  • Willingness to travel frequently for client/prospect meetings and industry gatherings
  • 2-3 years business development and strategy experience preferred
  • Experience working in live events an asset but not a requirement
